Alda’s Magnolia Hill Wedding Video by Sunflower Films
Early Autumn in Arkansas, I would argue, has some of the very best weather in the entire nation. Shooting our very first wedding at Alda’s Magnolia Hill, a historic wedding and reception venue on the National Historic Register, during this time made it that much sweeter! I knew from the moment I met with Krista and Jarrod’s mother, Barbara, that this was going to be a very special wedding. Krista described the wedding day and how she and Jarrod were writing their own vows and that several of their bridemaids and groomsmen were giving speeches. This was music to my ears. As you know from our FAQ page what I call “content” is a wedding videographer’s dream and my goodness was there plenty of it! I was super excited that they had chosen Sunflower Films to capture their day and we were going to make the most of it!
We started their wedding weekend on Friday, September 28 by capturing the special moments at the rehearsal dinner held at the historic downtown Little Rock eatery Cothams In the City. There was wonderful fellowship with extended family and friends as well as a few emotional speeches.
The next day, Saturday, September 29, we started in the early afternoon capturing all the details at Alda’s Magnolia Hill. Is it just a coincidence or just very good taste on Krista and Jarrod’s part to have sunflowers as their main decoration! Alda’s Magnolia Hill looks incredible on film and makes for a perfect place for a southern wedding. What I loved most about Krista and Jarrod’s wedding was how they wrote their own vows and how amazing they were! Seriously, if you don’t believe me just watch the film!
The reception was next and it was rocking! With the fireworks entry to the first dance, Central Arkansas Entertainment’s DJ spinning the toons, speeches that were again amazing, and then the exit in Alda’s 1938 vintage Packard car, Sunflower Films’ first experience at Alda’s Magnolia Hill was something to behold. Thank you Krista and Jarrod for allowing us to share in your amazing wedding day!
